Consumer and Retail
Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS)
Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) systems must operate reliably through long hours of daily use while withstanding knocks, spills, and sometimes even fluctuating power conditions.
At the same time, point-of-sale displays must look appealing, be user-friendly, and integrate smoothly with payment systems, all under pressure to meet aggressive time-to-market goals.
EPOS units are central to customer interactions, so their components must be rugged and dependable. Cable assemblies, embedded boards, and display solutions for dedicated point-of-sale systems should all be optimised for long-term use. Spills, static, and mechanical stress are common live-use risks, meaning designs require EMI resilience, durable connectors, and sealed overmoulded assemblies.
We help EPOS OEMs by offering engineering guidance on selecting and deploying reliable interconnects, embedded display modules, and box-build solutions that balance aesthetics with robustness. Our FastTrack prototyping service enables rapid iteration, allowing customers to validate form, fit and function in days rather than weeks.
By leveraging our global manufacturing presence – from UK prototypes to scaled builds in Romania and Far East – and integrated manufacturing-to-packaging capabilities, we support smooth transition from proof-of-concept to high-volume rollout, without sacrificing consistency or quality.
Ticketing
Electronic ticketing hardware, whether for transport, events, or retail, must balance durability and portability while handling frequent user interaction, variable temperatures, and security constraints.
Compact designs, fast deployment, and seamless integration with backend systems are all essential for OEMs designing these solutions.
Ticketing hardware components must tolerate regular use, variable temperature and humidity levels, and occasional rough handling. Devices must also ship configured, packaged, and secure to deter tampering or damage during transit.
We assist with robust, user-centric electronics design, offering encapsulated PCBA assemblies, sealed connectors, and embedded systems designed for endurance. Our engineering team collaborates with customers to optimise ergonomics, power use, and interface reliability.
Thorough prototyping means that customers can trial new designs and bring reliable new ticketing technologies to market, while our turnkey manufacturing and packaging capabilities – including ESD-safe and blister-pack retail-style packaging – ensures that ticketing equipment arrives ready to deploy and endure.
Vending
Vending machines combine exposure to environmental extremes, such as temperature, dust, and vibration, with high uptime demands, tamper resistance, complex payment interfaces and IoT connectivity.
Designs must simultaneously be resilient and scalable in production to succeed in a competitive market.
Vending electronics must endure constant use in varied, often harsh, environments. Displays and payment interfaces are subject to wear, moisture, and grime, so devices require sealed sub-assemblies, robust interconnects and reliable embedded modules .
GTK supports vending manufacturers by offering engineering advice on choosing durable cable harnesses with IP-rated designs and long-life display modules, all assembled within rugged embedded systems with IoT capability.
Our global manufacturing footprint allows us to support customer demand at every stage, from low-volume product launches to large-scale deployments, delivering electronics for vending units that are reliable, user-friendly, and ready for installation.
Electronic Goods
The consumer electronics market covers everything from smart home gadgets to portable devices, and OEMs constantly juggle challenges of miniaturisation, power efficiency, aesthetic design, certification compliance and short product lifecycles.
All of this means that, for suppliers into this sector like GTK, flexibility and production agility are vital.
Consumer gadgets demand compact, lightweight electronics that still deliver robust performance. Designers must navigate thermal constraints, EMI, battery safety, and patchwork of regulatory standards, often within tight timeframes.
GTK’s engineering and product teams collaborate with OEMs to advise on PCB integration, display selection, connector design, and EMI management, all with an eye on manufacturability and reliability.
Our FastTrack cable assembly prototyping service lets customers trial new form factors quickly, and we support flexible, scaling production, from UK low-volume, hand-made builds to cost-efficient automated manufacturing in Romania or the Far East .
When your product needs both electronics and polished retail presentation, our turnkey manufacturing and full-retail packaging capabilities ensure your electronic goods reach customers looking as good as they perform.
Our Certifications
GTK also holds a number of accreditations, ensuring we follow best practice in a number of areas. One such certification, Cyber Essentials, highlights our focus on cybersecurity and data management, ensuring that we safely handle our customers’ sensitive information.
In addition to having ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 approvals, our UK manufacturing facility is approved under the UL Wiring Harness Traceability programme. This means we offer complete traceability on all of the components used in the manufacture of wiring harnesses and medical cable assemblies.
This level of traceability gives our customers the added reassurance that the right components have been used and that their supply chain can be traced. We operate a cell manufacturing process which results in highly efficient production and high-quality products. We inspect finished products in accordance with the IPC 620 standard.
