Job Title: Buyer

Reports to: Plant Manager (GTK RO)

Location: Craiova, Romania

Status: Full-time, office-based position, with occasional visits to suppliers or other locations as needed.

An exciting opportunity has come up to join our GTK team in Romania. The role will be responsible for purchasing components and materials to meet production demands, ensuring the timely availability of goods while managing relationships with suppliers as well as dealing with any other business or office relating purchasing requests from management.

This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to efficiently handle various purchasing-related tasks, including order management, invoice processing, and supply chain coordination.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Romanian.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Management: Purchase components to meet production demands, ensuring timely availability of materials to support production schedules. 
  • Order Management: Review and check purchase order acknowledgments for accuracy, taking corrective actions as necessary. 
  • Purchase Order Adjustments: Adjust and manage purchase orders based on changes in customer requirements, including pulling forward or pushing out orders. 
  • Query Resolution: Professionally handle and resolve queries, including those related to invoices, debit notes, and stock control. 
  • Supplier Coordination: Assist with the purchasing of UK-based components and ensure supplier relationships are maintained effectively. 
  • Free-Issue Component Purchasing: Support the purchasing of BO free-issue items as required, ensuring smooth sourcing of materials. 
  • Order Progression: Track and progress orders using the progressing report to ensure on-time delivery. 
  • Invoice Processing: Enter purchase order invoices into the system accurately and promptly. 
  • Consumables Purchasing: Manage the purchase of consumable items for the company (e.g., stationery, coffee, etc.).  

Experience & Skills Required

  • Previous experience in a purchasing or buying role. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders and invoices. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficient in using purchasing software and systems. 
  • Knowledge of stock control and supply chain processes.  
  • Experience in sourcing both local and international suppliers. 
  • Understanding of manufacturing and production environments. 
  • Fluent in English & Romanian
