Overmoulded MicroPower 3mm signal/power connectors available from GTK

Connector and component manufacturer GTK has launched the 3mm pitch MicroPower series of overmoulded cable mount connectors designed to mate with the company’s board mount MPC range. Designed for high current/high density applications which require the design flexibility of wire-to-wire and wire-to-board configurations and capable of carrying currents of up to 5A and with a 10mΩ contact resistance, the new MPC connectors are suitable for both power and signal applications.

Overmoulding on the cable side provides for improved aesthetics as logos, colours and finishes can all be customised. A secure latching facility improves mating retention. GTK’s 3mm pitch connectors also have isolated terminals to prevent contacts from damage. More, devices are polarised to prevent mis-mating. They are available for circuit sizes 2 – 24 for single and dual row applications.

Applications for the new connectors include white goods, telecoms/datacoms, industrial automation, gaming and vending, aftermarket automotive and office equipment.
