GTK has launched a range of low-cost miniature plug-and-socket SMT connectors for interfacing stacked PCBs in mobile phone handsets, notebook PCs, PDAs, pagers and other small mobile devices. With a pitch size of just 0.8 mm and socket heights down to 3.55 mm, the Microstak board-to-board connector range is designed to save space on the PCB as well as minimizing PCB stacking height in applications where size reduction is of critical importance.

Microstak offers three socket height options — 3.55, 5.05 and 6.05 mm — which determine the separation between adjacent stacked PCBs. Pin configurations from 10- to 100-way can be specified. All configurations can be supplied in tube format, while those up to 30-way are additionally available as tape-and-reel. Each connector features board location pegs to assist positioning by automated pick-and-place machines.
