GTK has introduced a new range of high-performance pressfit D-subminiature terminations that can be fitted easily to PCBs without the need for solder. Primary applications will be in backplane boards for telecommunications and data communications systems.

Pressfit technology provides robust, secure mounting of connectors to PCBs, eliminating the need for soldering. This reduces assembly time and cost significantly, and removes the risk of uneven solder flow or contamination of sensitive components, creating a tight and reliable seal. An additional benefit is the ability to remove or replace the connector easily by applying pressure in the reverse direction.

GTK pressfit D-sub connectors are available in 9- to 37-way options, and are suitable for use all PCBs and backplanes. A range of mounting hardware options is available, including board locks, standoffs and threaded inserts.
