GTK has introduced a range of low-cost, PCB mounting USB (universal serial bus) connector sockets, compatible with the USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 standards. These offer cost savings of 20-30% over similar existing products.

The USB 1.1 standard is universally accepted within today's PC and peripheral markets. With the recent advent of USB 2.0, offering bandwidths up to 480 Mbit/s, the USB protocol provides higher transfer rates for advanced PC peripherals such as digital video cameras, DVD and CD writers and for low-cost routing solutions.

GTK offers both 'peripheral-end' A-style sockets and 'hub-end' B-style sockets. The A-style is available as a single-port or dual-port socket for either through-hole or surface-mount applications. The B-style socket comes as a single-port through-hole connector.
